PULSE JET BAG FILTER

The most efficient type of dust collector where fabric bags or cartridges are used as filter media which removes the particulate while the dusty air is directed to flow through it. The dust gets deposited on the outer periphery of bags/cartridges and clean air passes to the atmosphere through blower.

WORKING PRINCIPLE

The air borne dust drawn from the dust generating source enters the dust collector through the hopper. The dust gets deposited on the outer surface of the cylindrical bags hung inside the bag filter. The filtered air escapes through inside of the bags arranged in series of rows and reaches the clean air chamber and is then let out to atmosphere.

The dust agglomerates deposited on the outer surface of the bags are dislodged by application of compressed air injected inside the bags through solenoid valves and the dust gets collected in the hopper. At a time, one row of bags will be cleaned and the cleaning is on-line. The activation of solenoid valve is programmed by a sequential timer. The dust collected in the hopper falls in to a bin located below the hopper by opening the manual damper. The bin has to be manually evacuated at periodic intervals. Alternatively, the dust can be continuously discharged by providing a rotary air lock valve to ensure no dust is accumulated in the hopper. The rotary airlock valve is used where dust collection is high.

CYCLONE COLLECTOR

Cyclone dust collectors are separation devices that use the principle of centrifugal force, inertia and gravitational force to remove particulate matter from dusty air or fumes. This type of dust collector is ideal where coarse particles are to be separated.

WORKING PRINCIPLE

The Cyclone has a tangential inlet which gives the exhaust air flow a rotating movement, whereby, the dust particles are driven towards the envelope surface, where they are screwed down to the dust discharge point. Due to centrifugal force, when dust particles travel 180 deg. they move towards the wall of the cyclone and settle down towards the bottom due to impact and gravitational force. Particles are separated along the wall descent by the helical stream of the gas in the cyclone body and cone. The dust accumulated near the wall and that are away from the ascending vortex comes down and got discharged at the bottom of the cone. Near the dust outlet, the descending vortex reverses its direction and goes up from the bottom to top.

APPLICATIONS

  • Glass industry

  • Metal fabrication industry

  • Foundry

  • Automobile manufacturing

UNIT DUST COLLECTOR

Unit dust collector is the most compact unit bag filter. It has a bag filter chamber with envelope shaped bags as the filter layer.

A motorized shaker mechanism makes the filter chamber vibrate with vigor, dislodging the dust from the bags and making the dust fall into the collection bin through the hopper.

This type of dust collector is most suitable for limited number of dust generating sources.

APPLICATIONS

  • Food processing

  • Foundry

  • Pharmaceutical industry
